Live Class Guide for Teachers

Important Note: Live classes are the perfect tool for conducting private lessons with your students remotely. This guide explains how teachers should access virtual classes. If you haven't created a virtual class yet, follow this guide.

By default, only students with up-to-date payments and who are registered/enrolled in the class will be able to access the live class. However, the teacher can now authorize access to the class for students with outstanding debts by checking the box.
Teachers can start the class at any time by entering the room and clicking the Start Now! button. Before starting, they will see the connected students at the bottom.

To provide visibility for live classes, both students and teachers will see the scheduled classes in a banner below the top menu. If there are 10 minutes or less remaining, the message will be displayed in large font.

Teachers’ salaries

Create and edit teachers’ salaries

There are three types of ways to compensate teachers:

Generally, by assigning a monthly salary or fixed compensation per class or per hour taught.
Fixed payment per class/group. The teacher receives a payment for teaching a class (whether it's for one or several days).
Exceptional payment for giving a single class. For example, a payment for a substitute.

To add a teacher's salary, you must follow these steps:

Navigate to Students
Select a Teacher

Access the Wages section.
Click on the Edit button and select a salary type: Monthly / Per Hour / Per Class.

Add the amount of compensation.
Click on Save Details.

You can also assign a fixed salary per class (for all the days that class is taught). For example, an external/internal teacher conducts a workshop and is paid specifically for teaching those classes:

Navigate to the specific class.
Add the teacher to the class if they were not already associated.
Click on the salary button next to the teacher's name.

Create an account in PayPal Business

In this guide we’ll explain how to create a PayPal Business account, so you can link it with Kydemy afterwards.

Step 1 You are going to enter this link and click on “Create free Business account” button.

Step 2 Complete with your email and press “Continue”. Then, you’ll introduce a safe password and click on “Continue” again.

Step 3 PayPal will ask for your billing information to create bills for your customers with the right tax information.

Step 4. Select your type of company and complete with all the information the platform asks you. PayPal will explain to you the information you have to complete in each field.

Step 5. In this step, PayPal will ask for more information to complete your profile, such as date of birth, nationality and an address.

Advanced Memberships

Discover what are they for and how to set up them

The advance fees are used in schools that have plenty of activities with different prices or duration classes.

Depending on the type of class, you can define a different rate.

Here, we will show you the steps to activate the advance memberships:

Go to Configuration > Memberships > Advanced membership

Once you activate them, you will see some letters. Each letter identifies a track type. One class will always have the same price inside that class group.

Let’s see an example: you’ll set up a fee for a 2-hours ballet classes:

Introduce the name of the track
Establish the monthly price for each class each week.

If you need to introduce the monthly price of one more class per week, click on the blue button on the right. You can include as many as you wish:

Once you have the different types of fees created, you can apply quarter and annual discounts.

Delete a class

How to remove a class from the schedule

Important Note: when deleting a class, it is important to set it as archived. This way, you can keep the attendance/data for future reference.

To delete a class, you must first archive it. To do this, follow these steps:

Navigate to Classes.
Access the Details section of the class you wish to delete.

Scroll down to Status and change it from active to archived.
Click Save.
Once the class has been archived, you will be able to click the Delete Class button.

Notes

You will not be able to delete an archived class if it contains students. Make sure to remove all students from the class.
Keep in mind that once you delete a class, you will not be able to recover it.
Remember that archived classes will not appear in the current schedule. They will only be shown in the schedule when you click the Archived button.

How to add one or more tags to your students

Tags are designed to help you organize and filter your students by keywords.

There are two ways to add a tag to a student:

From the attendance list:

Navigate to Students.
Click on the “Tags” field of a student

Write down the tag’s name and click on Create new tag.
Choose a color for the tag and select “save”.

From the student’s profile:

Navigate to Students.
Access the profile of the desired student.
Click on the Add tag button located below the profile picture of the student.
