Class Management to Start a New Course

Kydemy has a quick and easy system so you don't have to manually create the classes for the new course, promote students to the next level one by one, or delete old classes by hand. We explain it in this article.

We recommend using this system instead of modifying the schedules to extend them to the following year, as it may lead to errors.

Follow these steps to update your classes:

1º Before you start, check that the levels of each style are correct and in the proper order in Settings - Levels. You can move a level up in the hierarchy using the arrows. Make sure they are ordered from lowest to highest level, as the option to promote students or classes checks the current level and automatically assigns them the next one on the list.

2º Check that your students have an assigned level and that it is correct. You can download an Excel file of your students in Settings - Students and verify the level column.

3º Now we can go to Settings - Classes and start cloning them.
First, select the classes you want to update; click on them, and they will be marked in bold.

4º Select the options below that you wish to check or uncheck:

Next to each option, you have a clarification of what each action means:

5º Then select the start and end dates for the new classes. When you click on them, a calendar will appear for you to choose the days. Finally, click the Update Classes button.

Done! The system will clone the classes according to the selected options, with the students included in each class and their higher level if you indicated that option. It will archive the old classes with the name of the previous level if you chose that option. This way, you retain the classes from the previous course with all their student and attendance data.
