How to use Google Meets in Kydemy

Anyone with a Google account can start or join video meetings with up to 100 participants, with no time limit. However, after September 30th 2024, the duration of the meeting may be restricted to 60 minutes.

How Does It Work?

Users who do not use G Suite (Meet with a free personal account)

Go to Google Meet.
If you have a meeting code, enter it in the "Enter meeting code" field and click Join.
If you want to start a meeting, click on New meeting.
Choose an option:

Get a meeting link to share: a meeting link will be generated that you can share with others to meet with them, either at the same time or later. Copy and paste the meeting link into a browser or type the code in the "Enter meeting code" field and click Join.

Start an instant meeting: create a meeting to join it instantly.

Schedule in Google Calendar: to schedule a meeting, you will be directed to Google Calendar.

How to Use It in Kydemy?

Option 1

Schedule a recurring meeting with Google Calendar for each class that will repeat on the configured days and assigned times. The links for the recurring meetings will remain active as long as the event (class) continues to repeat.

Add the Google Meet meeting code in the Class Links section. This way, students will not only receive the email and notification from Google, but they will also always have the meeting link in their class calendar.

Option 2

Obtain several meeting links; these will not expire until the class ends. So you can add as many links as needed to each class in Kydemy to schedule the classes on the days and times they will be held. This option is recommended if you do not want to use recurring meetings in Google Calendar.

Students will be able to click on the link and go directly to the meeting. It can be set up so that the link is not visible until the assigned day, and restrict it to students with up-to-date payments.
