Open classes - non-fixed groups
How to use Kydemy with classes that have non-fixed students or that do not attend all classes/days that are held.
This functionality is currently in testing. We will improve it in the future by allowing students to reserve a spot in the class and other enhancements.
What is an open class?
An open class or non-fixed group is a class that is held one or more times a week where students are not enrolled to attend every day/hour that the class is offered. This may be because students freely choose their classes each week, because the class is offered at various times each week and students select which time they want to attend, etc.
Requirements:
For Kydemy to treat a class as an Open Class, the following conditions must be met:
The class cannot have fixed enrollments. This means that there cannot be students in the Students or Pairs section of the class.
The class must have a schedule.
The class must have at least one assigned teacher.
If you currently have a class created and want to convert it to an open group, you must remove all previously enrolled students. Attendance lists should not be modified.
Functioning:
The first time you use an open class, you must:
Create an attendance list for the day of the class.
Manually add students to that attendance list:

Once you have added the students, the system will remember these students for future classes.
On the next class day, when creating the attendance list, the system will suggest students who have previously attended that class:

By clicking on a student, you can quickly add them to that day's attendance list.
For new students, add them manually as in the previous steps.
New students will also be remembered in future classes.
If you mistakenly add a student, you can remove them from the list using the red button with the cross icon.

Notes and Additional Information:
If you want to create an absence, for example, in the case that a student reserves a spot in the class and then does not attend, you must add the student to the attendance list, and once they are on the list, you should uncheck them (so that the ✔ does not appear in the upper right corner).
If a student is removed from the attendance list, it will be recorded that they were not expected to attend the class.
When adding students manually, or by using the recently added students panel, the CLASS CREDITS will be updated automatically by deducting one class.
The class attendance statistics will show: a ✔ green for each attendance, a ❗ red for each absence, and a ⭕ gray for the days the student did not reserve a spot in the class.
