# Teachers’ salaries

## Create and edit teachers’ salaries

There are three types of ways to compensate teachers:

1. Generally, by assigning a monthly salary or fixed compensation per class or per hour taught.

2. Fixed payment per class/group. The teacher receives a payment for teaching a class (whether it's for one or several days).

3. Exceptional payment for giving a single class. For example, a payment for a substitute.

To add a teacher's salary, you must follow these steps:

1. Navigate to **Students**

2. Select a **Teacher**

5. Add the amount of compensation.

6. Click on **Save Details**.

You can also assign a fixed salary per class (for all the days that class is taught). For example, an external/internal teacher conducts a *workshop* and is paid specifically for teaching those classes:

1. Navigate to the specific class.

2. Add the teacher to the class if they were not already associated.

3. Click on the salary button next to the teacher's name.

These payments apply only to a single class session (class/day/hour). To do this:

1. Select the desired class.

2. Select the attendance tab.

3. Select the day/attendance list where the teacher taught the class.

4. Add the substitute teacher to the attendance list if necessary.

5. Mark the teacher's attendance.

6. Click on the payment button that will be displayed.

7. Enter the amount for the class payment.

**NOTES:**

* Make sure the teacher has one or more classes assigned.

* Ensure that teacher attendance tracking is active: Settings / Employees / Record Teacher Attendance.

* You will be able to view all this salary data along with class attendance by accessing the Salary section from the profile of the desired teacher.
